Day #1 - The New Reality

Call me what you want, what you will, but at the end of the day, I am she - the one who said she'd never remarry. Married. Again. And I couldn't be happier! It's just that I forgot what Married Life was like. Forgive me, but it's been a while.

I awoke this morning in a King size bed - at least two sizes larger than what we're used to - wrapped in the most luxurious white cotton sheets. My New Husband was sleeping soundly by my side and all seemed right with the world. I stirred. He stirred. "Where are you going? Trying to sneak away already?" he whispered.

"Of course not, but we've got brunch with our guests this morning and a lot to pack into the car before we leave for our honeymoon."

"Five min," he said, his shorthand request for five more minutes before having to leave the comfort of our bed. I obliged, snuggling into the triangle he'd created by his bent arm.

Eventually we make our way to my mother's room to gather my belongings where we discover that our wedding was far more epic than we could have predicted. We laugh about it deeply, have brunch with some of our family and friends, pack the car for the trip to Bar Harbor, Maine, and sadly, say our goodbyes.
